Meet Our Team
David Rubins, MD, FAAOS, has more than 20 years of joint replacement experience and specializes in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement, custom fit total knee replacement and revision total joint replacement. One of his areas of special interest is the direct anterior (DA) approach for total hip surgical repair. The DA approach is a minimally invasive technique not widely used and involves a smaller incision, no detaching of muscles or tendons, improved component positioning, equal leg lengths, decreased dislocation rates and decreased patient hospital stays.
Dr. Rubins completed his orthopedic surgery fellowship at the Florida Knee and Orthopedic Centers. He completed his orthopedic surgery and general surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital. Dr. Rubins received his medical degree from New York Medical College and his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tufts University. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Connecticut Orthopedic Society.
Matthew Sobolewski, PA-C received his Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College, Mass, and his Masters of Health Science degree from Drexel University, Penn. His focus is in orthopedic and joint related injuries and he works closely with Dr. Rubins.
