Pulmonary & Critical Care Services
Pulmonary Associates, the Bristol Hospital Multi-Specialty Group, Inc. practice of pulmonary and critical care medicine includes a group of four, full-time, board-certified pulmonary physicians to care for patients. They work closely with Bristol Hospital and the pulmonary function laboratory and pulmonary rehab center to help evaluate lung function and provide rehabilitative care for patients so they can return to their daily activity level.
The group also coordinates with:
Dr. Brimal B. Patel, medical director of the Bristol Hospital Sleep Center
to perform sleep studies to aide in the diagnosis of sleep-related breathing disorders, commonly present in chronic lung disease patients.
Bristol Hospital’s Radiology Center
to offer diverse imaging important in lung disease diagnosis- including HRCT, CT angiography, nuclear scans and MRI’s.
Bronchoscopy’s to aide in the diagnosis of various lung diseases are performed by our physicians in Bristol Hospital’s Perioperative Center
• The combined medical, surgical and cardiac intensive care unit located at Bristol Hospital is covered by four, full-time, critical care physicians, hospitalists, critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, nutritionists and social workers dedicated to the management of critical care patients.
• Bristol Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has 14 beds equipped to provide a variety of hemodynamic and respiratory monitoring. The unit offers hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic ultrasound, ventilatory, renal replacement, and cardiovascular support.
