Bristol, CT (4/19/10) – The United Way of West Central Connecticut presented a $5,000 check to Bristol Hospital in support of the Senior Foot Care Program. The presentation was made at a recent Bristol Hospital Development Foundation Board Meeting.

These funds will be used to support the podiatry services that are available to seniors at the Bristol Senior Wellness Clinic at 240 Stafford Ave., Bristol. The Senior Wellness Clinic is open one day per week and offers podiatry services for seniors for a small fee. The program is run under the direction of Linda Urbanski, PhD, Administrator, Ingraham Manor Skilled Nursing and Short Term Rehabilitation Facility.

"The United Way is pleased to partner with Bristol Hospital on this important initiative, commented Donna Osuch, President and CPO, United Way of West Central Connecticut. "One of the building blocks for a good life for all is health, and United Way is committed to improving senior’s health and wellness. The Bristol Hospital Foot Care Program is an amazing preventative service, and we are happy to help seniors who otherwise could not afford it to take part in the program."

We are grateful for the support that the United Way has given us with this contribution, commented Kurt A. Barwis, President and CEO, Bristol Hospital. "We recognize that many people have grown to rely on a number of services that were provided at the Senior Clinic over the years. We are very fortunate that we have the community support that can help make this a reality."
