Emergency Care - When Every Moment Counts
At Bristol Hospital, we are committed to providing our community with the finest emergency care. Our Emergency Care Center physicians are Board certified in emergency medicine and every physician on our staff has trained at advanced tertiary care centers around the country, something not commonly found in communities this size. Most of our physicians have been with the department for over 10 years, reflecting their commitment to providing quality emergency medicine to the community. Our emergency trained physician assistants, nurses and technicians are experienced in treating those in need of emergency care and dedicated to providing the most comprehensive care as efficiently as possible. Our emergency department staff also includes respiratory therapists, radiology technicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals who provide immediate, expert emergency care right here in our community. Bristol Hospital's ECC can treat any patient with any emergency need at the same level as the best emergency treatment center anywhere.
Express Care Unit
Bristol Hospital recently completed construction of its new Express Care Unit that will allow non-critical patients to be evaluated separately and will move them through the Emergency Care Center more quickly. The addition of these four new treatment rooms is expected to reduce wait times for emergency room patients, especially those with less serious problems. This expansion represents the first phase of a three-year initiative aimed at expanding and updating the Emergency Care Center, and, ultimately, constructing a completely new Center.
Bristol Hospital EMS Regional Training Center
An emergency medical services provider has the goal of treating, stabilizing and transporting seriously ill or injured persons in the pre-hospital setting. Bristol Hospital EMS, LLC is a provider of Emergency Medical Education including EMT training, First Aid, CPR and more. Quality EMS education is the first step in improving the standard of care for our citizens. We offer a wide range of courses for pre-hospital providers, including refresher programs for re-certification, as well as courses for other health care workers. CPR with AED training is always available, for both EMS providers as well as the community.
